India has rich bio-diversity of attractive flowers in the wild with high potential as cultivable ornamental. CSIR-Floriculture mission is a farm-based income generating enterprise having high potential to generate employment for rural and urban youths.
The CSIR Floriculture Mission organized a comprehensive five-day workshop focused on skill development and entrepreneurship, led by Dr. Zabeer Ahmed and Er Ab Rahim. With the aim of reaching 75 participants from diverse backgrounds, the event targeted women self-help groups and Agri-technocrats. The workshop, spanning various aspects of floriculture, from dry flower technology to floral resin art, Floral Arrangements like bouquets, box bouquet making and table arrangements, Floral Resin Art, Flower Pressing, Floral Jewellery Making and Flower Press Printing generated enthusiasm among attendees. It strategically aimed to empower participants by imparting advanced training, equipping them with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to navigate market trends in the floriculture sector.

As Kashmir served as the backdrop for this transformative initiative, expectations are high for a new wave of innovation to impact the floricultural industry. Beyond immediate skill development, the workshop has the potential to instigate a positive shift in the industry’s approach and practices
