Kashmir is known for its vibrant and diverse artistic heritage, which has been passed down through generations of skilled artisans. However, these artisans face numerous challenges in today’s globalised and modernized world. Globalisation and modernisation on their have had an impact work. However, these traditional crafts are increasingly being threatened by competition from mass produced goods and modern technology. Many artisans work in small, home based workshops without access to modern tools or resources. This makes it difficult for them to compete with large scale producers who have access to modern machinery and technology.
